"Family"....Altered Frame

Hi all...hope this finds you happy and well.  Summer sure is speeding by all tooooo quickly.  I'm loving every minute but they sure to fly by.
Time to start getting ready for my July classes for Scraps! when I saw this frame in the craft department of my local WM I had to grab one and see what I could come up with....and here it is.
The frame is 12x12 and comes with nine, four inch pieces that fit inside of it.  I decided to 'think outside the box" and use them as mini 'frames' to surround the larger one.  I used BasicGrey papers...yummy designs from the Sweet Threads collection.
My fonts, words, and photo corners are all cricut cuts...you will probably recognize....Heritage, Home Accents, Home Decor, Opposites Attract, A Child's Year and Wall Decor and More.
I've cut my green paper at 3 1/2 inches and then used a corner rounder punch on them.  The frames are stained with Peeled Paint Distress Stain by Ranger and accented with Walnut Distress stain, also used these to color my grungeboard.  I've also added some fun grunge shapes from Tim Holtz.
Have you seen the Enamel Accents by Ranger????  Just luv them...I've added them to accent the grunge cuts and used them instead of brads in my hinges.
A bit of lace, a button, and some fave pix of my boysss completes the project....hope you like...can't wait to teach this class!!!!!

Hugs,
Sandy

Tim Holtz Weekend

I can't say enough good things about this weekend.  Tim Holtz is the most personal, genuine, crafty guy I've ever met.  He taught us sooooo much in such a short time....My favorite part was watching everyone create something wonderfully unique....even though we were all given the same products.
Tim's wait list for stores in 7 years!!!!  Wowzers...I feel so fortunate to have been able to see him....I hope I have another opportunity to do this again...but if not...I'm sure grateful for this one.
Tim gave permission to teach any of these in classes....so believe me...I will be teaching and sharing....watch for upcoming information on his fantastic techniques!!!
There is an album on my facebook if you would like to see the photos in color...thanx for stopping by...

Hi all!   Hope this finds you well and happy.  I've been working on some decor for a baby shower and wanted to share the final product.  I made three centerpieces and a banner for a little one that's on her way.  The colors for the shower are purple, lime green and zebra print.
The wee ones name is Avery....Storybook and Ashlyn's Alphabet were used to make the banner.

another view of the banner...had to add some bling...a girl is never tooooo young to appreciate bling...lol
this is the 'back' of the centerpiece....the back of the frame has Avery's first initial.  Each side has 3 sock rosettes and 3 cricut flowers cut from Mothers Day Bouquet.
The frame that holds the ultrasound pix is from Sentimentals, each frame holds a different pic.
I found the fun socks in colors to match and zebra print....they made perfect little rose blooms.
I also added a teddy sporting a tutu and a zebra ribbon bow...I used the ribbon to adorn the vase (which is a large purple Chinese 'to go' box.  The black and white headbands can be used for the babe once she arrives.
The tutu's are made from tiny bathing suits...I made little tutu skirts with headbands and tulle...accenting with zebra ribbon and some hand made ribbon flowers.
These were lots of fun to make, hope the mommy loves them as much as I do.
Happy Day....I'm off to get ready for my Tim Holtz weekend....Take care,
Sandy

Daditude

I recently posted a faux metal layout using foil....I was inspired by a wonderful crafter named Connie...she is one of the many talented teachers at Treasured Memories....my sweet bloggy friend Bea also teaches there....please follow the links to see some of the awesome creations these crafty wizards have come up with.
This layout was created with metal tape...suggested by my dear friend Sandi....and I think closer to what Connie does with her technique. I have simply layered grungeboard and chipboard onto a piece of cardstack...covered with tape....distressed with alcohol inks and craft paint...embellished with cricut cuts, adhesive pearls, hand made dragon flies, a clock face, buttons, bottle cap and lace......lots of embossing and texturing....SO much fun!!!
I will be teaching my version of this technique at my LSS...wish I were close enough to take the class from Connie.....and a class or two from sweet Bea....I will be working part time at the LSS this summer and look forward to lots of scrappy fun!!!! Thanx for stopping by....have a fab day!

embellies are a combo of cricut cuts/alterations grungeboard/chipboard--glue to layout, cover with tape, distress away, add additonal embellies on top and viola....a great way to impress any man with DADitude!
