Give Thanks

Hola friends....Among the busy hours of the weekend I had a little bit of time to create something I've been wanting to do for awhile....My first reverse canvas altered art piece.
I wanted this to be somewhat monochromatic in nature....I love the fall colors and am so please with the outcome of this piece.  The papers are from BoBunny....just luv them!  I used my cricut and my Mothers Day bouquet cart to make the flowers...except the middle one which is from Prima....I used A Child's Year for the leaves....cut in gold and then inked with green and brown.  I had to have the Inspired Heart cart when I saw all the luvly fonts...that is where I got the Give Thanks.
Tim Holtz's pieces accent the edge of the  frame....a swivel hook, key and keyhole....you can see a bit of the Prima bling as well....
One of Tim's pins make the body of my butterfly cut from Sentimentals....ink, stickles and adhesive pearls finish him off.
I also used adhesive pearls to accent the letters....
Love the way the flowers turned out.....some fiber and feathers help to finish the piece off....I plan on making a companion piece to go with this one....I feel a Ustream class coming on~

Thanx for stopping by today.....

Happy Scrappin,
Sandy

Advent Calendar from Printer Tray

Hello all....I have the great opportunity to submit some things for a big crop in Joplin in November.  There will be over 300 people at the crop with several classes offered.  One of the items I am submitting is this advent calendar made with a printer tray.  I've used Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium papers...what fun they are to work with!
the back of the calendar
I cut the naugty or nice list from the paper and added a pen nub from Tim Holts over a Martha Stewart punched snowflake.
I used another MS punch to created the wreath...there was already one on the image and I just wanted to add deminsion to it.
The scallop circle is yet another MS punch and the numbers are cut from Winter Wonderland at 1 inch.
The edges of the box are trimmed with paper cut at 3/4"...then I added tissue tape from Tim to all the edges of the tray and each box. I've also inked the edges of each box.
There are so many beautiful tags and images in this stack that the possiblities for embellishing are endless.  Just added a few punches, bling and stickles.

I used my punches throughout the box to add interest.
This is the inside of one of the boxes....I used the opposite side of the cardstock I used to make the lid to cover the bottom of each box...on this one I added some stickles and bling.
Other images cut from the papers accent the interior of several of my boxes.
There were not 25 boxes so I improvised and divided the two large boxes into 3 by making 'lids' for my own compartments.
The image of santa is just to die for...luv this paper....Each box can hold a special 'treat' for the opener as you count down the days til Christmas with you family....I plan on adding some 'christmas past' family photos to some of my boxes as well...the box will be beautiful to look at all month long.....
The pulls are made by hot glueing a ribbon loop unter the number of each box...this is strong and study enough to stand up to the gentle pull needed to open each box.
I saw the paper cutting pattern for the majority of my boxes on this video by Laura....Following the Paper Trail....the rest of the design was my own...tho I am sure someone somewhere has done it too.....The triple compartments are made by measuring the interior of the box...divided into three...when I cut the paper I backed off the shorter measurement on one side by 1/16 of an inch to give some room...then I just assembled a 'lid' just like the ones I've made for my explosion boxes.

Hope you enjoyed my calendar...wish me luck on the class submission!   and oh....Merry Christmas....LOL

Wish...birthday photobox/card

Still on my explosion box kick...this one is for a co worker who is celebrating a birthday...I love the pink and black together...one of my fave combos...this stack has been in my stash forever....i've inked, laced added tags, ribbon and a few charms...as well as some prima flowers...
Wish is on a piece of wire and is anchored by a flower from Mothers Day Bouquet....
the top of the box is accented with some fun trim and one of my 'tutu cute' blooms made from wired ribbon as well as a bit of glittered flourish...
one of the butterflies from Hannah Montana sits sweetly upon the flower...accented with pearls and stickles...

hope you enjoyed my project for today....

You Have My Heart On A String

Ah yes, my sweet son does surly have my heart on a string.  Mcauley is turning 16 tomorrow and I just had to do a layout of him as a baby...therepy I guess...the years have gone too swiftly.  I am so very proud of my dear son...he is the best son a mother could ask for and I am so very proud and blessed to call him mine.
I've used Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby paper stash for this layout.
My hearts are cut from Sweethearts...love the punched scallop edge...I've added stitching and some lace to some of the hearts...part of the title is computer generated, cut apart, and inked.  I've added some additional stitching randomly to the circle frame.  I cut my circle with Plantin Schoolbook....@ 9 1/2 inches with the center point on and then @ 9 1/4 inch with the center point on...this makes it easy to cut the narrow circle frames for you layouts.  I' ve also used the center point to cut my squares from the middle of my papers.
Sentimental frames accent the grunge letters that spell out my and heart...I've added picket fence crackle paint to the the title.   I've also added deminsional paint to the frames to give them some depth.
The butterflies are from Sentimentals...inked and pearl accents added....all of my flowers are from Mothers Day Bouquet and the leaves are from A Child's Year...I've poked a hole in the corner of the photo and the photo mat and added a little charm held by a piece of string....
I've used string to 'write' string....just ran the string through some glue....spelled the word, let it dry...and viola....a string font all of my own....I've also added a little heart charm to the g.
Martha Stewart edge punch on the sides of the paper strip.....
lots of lace and the same Martha Stewart punch in the corner variety...

hope you enjoyed my little project...have a great day....thanx for stopping by!
