Natural Beauty

Happy Happy Friday!!!! Are you as happy as I am to see the weekend come...a light at the end of the tunnel and it's not a train...yeehaw!!!! This week we are involved in a triple challenge with Frosted Designs and Practical Scrappers....this means lots of fun opportunities to get your scrap on and maybe even win some blog candy.....This layout features my lovely DGN.... Adrionna... aka...Onna... she is such a pretty little thing. I used DCWV papers and some card stock. The journaling was computer generated and then distressed with craft stain. I also added a little Martha Stewart doily punch scrap I had. This ia another sketch from pagemaps and is the sketch for SOUS this week.
The cherry blossom branch is from Home Decor...I added some white silk flowers and some pearl paint centers. Natural is cut from Opposites Attract and Beauty is several different fonts from Lyrical Letters. The owl is from Happily Ever After, part of the challenge from Frosted Designs. I adore this lace and use it a lot....which brings me to the next part of the challenge. The challenge for Practical Scrappers was to use at least 3 different types of ribbon. I used the pink and checked here and added some paper flowers. You can see that I stitched around the marquee I cut from Storybook. The mat behind the picture is from A Child's World.
Some more lace ribbon and I added a pin accented with a few beads as well.
These flowers were made from a Home Decor cut. It is the flower with the heart shaped petal and I cut 3 each in 3 sizes and layered and layered....and scrunched and scrunched. I also distressed with craft stain and added stickles. The leaves are A Child's Year. My butterfly is from Indie Art, I strung beads onto wire to form the body. The flourish behind the flowers is also from Home Decor. We have had such a wonderful response to the challenge blog and hope that this triple challenge will make it all the more exciting. Hope you will pop over to SOUS and check out the DT's creations as well as Frosted Designs and Practical Scrappers. Thanx for taking a look....let me know what you think!

Take These Wings and Fly....SOUS Challenge

Time for a reveal at SOUS.....This is a pic of one of my DGNs...isn't she a beauty? I used K&Co and some plain card stock for this one. I cut the mats from one of the card cuts on A Child's Year. The journal tags are from Plantin Schoolbook...embossed....inked and ribbons added.
I love the Martha Stewart date tags...such a great look for my style....The wings are from Indie Art....I enhanced the photo to a sepia color and added the stars....I used a craft knife to cut along the sides to slip the wings into place.

I love to distress my papers with ripping and tearing....it works so beautifully with these double sided papers.....the butterflies are Indie Art with some stickles...the words are computer generated.
Fly is cut from A Child's Year welded in DS , pop dotted and stickled.
Flower is made from the leaf on ACY....the same cut for the leaves....I just stretched them in DS. Stars are also from ACY....some ribbon, a button and some wire and stickles for some shine. Hope you like it....come on over and join in on the fun....the sketch is really a lot of fun and very versatile....pop on over and see what the rest of the DT came up with.....you won't be sorry!!!!! just click HERE

Intention

Hey all....hope you are having a wonderful Monday. This week at Creative Twist we were challenged to do a project inspired by our birth year.....I was born in 1961 and this is the year construction started on the Berlin Wall. The framed quote is in German and reads...."Nobody has any intention to erect a wall." This was a statement made my Walter Ulbricht the very year construction began on the wall. I feel like I am in a cold war with my x, and my children have all been victims...having to chose sides in order to survive...fully aware that if they tried to cross the wall their father has erected it would surly be devastating...there is certainly a very strong wall in our family right now....thus my title....intention....I truly feel that my x is unable to remember the intention the day we married and love our children more than he hates me...so it was a very therapeutic layout....The papers are K & Co except for the plain card stock...sheet music and wedding certificate...those were downloaded from the Internet as well as the Victorian bride. I beaded some stick pins and added them to the ends of the ribbon. The oval was cut from home decor, glued to the clip art and I also added some pearl paint and stickles to enhance both the frame and the picture. The greenery is from Lyrical Letters.
The mini frame is from K & Co...the butterfly is Home Accents....I added some ribbon and lace as well. The red roses are silk.
This flower was made using the leaf from A Child's Year. I stretched it in DS and then layered the leaves....then chalked and stickled....it was very easy and I am very pleased with the outcome.

The journal tag is cut from Plantin and tucked behind the layout....The marquee is from Storybook. I made a photo corner with a scrap of paper and my Martha Stewart doily punch. You can just barely see the little butterfly in the top right of this pic, there are 3 of them on the layout...very subtle....I made them with some bling and Fiskars Zingz. Click HERE to see what the other DT members came up with....and maybe join in yourself...thanx for looking.

Happy Saturday everyone....as usual I'm scrappin instead of cleaning...LOL.....bad girl! This is a picture of Mcauley and I last spring......I used my photo impact software and added a pen and ink enhancement....The papers are a mix of Heidi Grace, Fiskers and some from my stash.
I made my off white flowers with Plantin and added some sticker centers... I am so excited to have my new Home Decor cart for the flourish.....
The butterflies are from Indie Art...I used the scraps from their cuts to add the swallow tails and enhanced them with some paints.
I used the chandelier cut and Fleur de lis to make the gate....I had been thinking about it and Michele's designs gave me the push I needed....some more Fleur de lis in the corners....with some Storybook hinges to hold the top layer back.
Forever is from Home Decor and the circle from Lyrical Letters...once again I have used A Child's Year for the mat and added pearl paint to accent...thanx for stopping by....hope you like it....leave a comment and let me know....love to read em!!!

The leaves are from Mickey and friends again with the swirl from SYI...
I threaded twine through buttons to accent the left side of the page....I just can't leave well enough alone...LOL....then I added some tiny leave cut from A Child's Year...

Snow Day....Proof! I am one COOL mom!!

Good Thursday evening everyone.....I did a pink layout...yeah!!!!! Not something I get to do very often...As an employee of the school district one of the benefits of my job is SNOW DAYS!!!!LOL....This is a pic of me headed down hill on one of our snow days from last school year. Proof to my son in years to come that I was indeed 'one COOL mom'.....LOL....The pink paper was from my stash and the white is a Heidie Grace paper....some glitter paper from the stack WM carries....the others are card stock. I used my Winter Woodland, Plantin, A Child's Year, Home Accents and Lyrical Letters carts on this layout.
The flower was made from the snowflake cut from Home Accents, the one you see in the center of the large pink WW snowflake....I cut the the scalloped squares from ACY...The second pink layer is accented with the Martha Stewart doily border punch with some lace added behind the second white layer.
The greenery is from LL, some pink flowers from my stash with WW snowflake centers and Plantin flowers with some added bling!
Some sheet music to back the pic....font is WW as well as the bird and a journaling tag and sticker flowers from my stash. Hope you like it.....

Window In Time

This week at Creative Twist Christina challenged us to make a layout using something other than the typical shape to mat our pictures. I used a large clock and framed with a window....a Window In Time of my youngest son Mcauley. I used cloud 9 papers and lots of fun cricut cuts for this layout.
I've noticed lots of layouts lately with fun simple trees so decided to make my own using Winter Woodland. The main tree is a large cut of the pine branch, then I cut smaller branches and added them....I cut off the pine cones. My window is made with the letter L from Pooh Font...I added some pearl paint for the nails. Cloud nine rub ons for the leaves on the large clock hands....both the clock face and hands were cut from Graphically Speaking.
Again a branch from the Winter Woodland cart...the bird is also cut from the same cart, I added some glitter paint to give him a little zing.
Happily Ever After has these wonderful keys....I cut them in 2 sizes...cuttlebugged them and added some of the gold pearl paint to enhance them a bit. The flowers and brads are from Heidi Grace and my title font is Lyrical Letters as well as the greenery.
My infamous My Community fence....cuttlebugged...some more rub ons from cloud 9 and a smaller version of the Winter Woodland bird. I chose to make all my prints black and white so they would not fight with the colors on the layout. The tree is cut from K&Co paper....hope you like it...hop on over and see what the rest of the DT came up with and hope you join in on the fun @ Creative Twist!!!

Stuck On U Sketch Challenge ~~~Dream~~~

I really enjoyed this weeks challenge @ Stuck On U Sketches...thanx to Sandi for choosing such a lovely sketch. I decided to work a bit out of my comfort zone and create something somewhat monochromatic. The papers are the wedding stack that WM carries. I used my Martha Stewart Border punch around the edge of the second layer. The rectangular piece was created by typing a silly little story about Carsyn on white card stock. My frame was cut with the scalloped square on A Child's Year and then cutting the center out with the square from Plantin Schoolbook. I added white pearl paint around the edges.I love to pick up little charms when I see them...these were found at Michael's in the bridal aisle, the are tied with a bit of lace ribbon. The birds are from the new Winter Woodland cart....cut in both white and grey so I could alternate the colors on each bird.Dream was cut from the Home Accents cart and stickled...wish you could see the glitter...I also used Plantin to cut the hidden journaling tag and added some bling and ribbon. The feathers were from my stash and the pearls once again from the bridal aisle at M's. This flower was created by using the snowflake cut from Home Accents. It is the image that has a heart shaped edge and I cut 2 each of 3, 2 1/2, 2 and 1 1/2 inch layers and staggered them as I glued them together. Then I just scrunched and scrunched until I got the effect I wanted....a few stickles, feathers and pearls to enhance....The leaves are from A Child's Year....stretched in DS....(Nanne's touch) I also chalked them and added pop dots. I hope you will head on over to Stuck On U Sketches to see what the other ladies have come up with as well as take the challenge yourself...I know you will have fun!

He Dreams of Christmas

I saw a digi layout in Somerset Memories that I loved loved loved...so I decided to try to recreate it. This is my sweet first born DS (Michael) just before he turned 2....he had fallen asleep with a Christmas coloring book in front of him...he looks so sweet. I cropped the picture and then enhanced it to look like a charcoal sketch. The papers are a mix of K&Co, My Minds Eye and card stock.
Plantin was used to cut all the rectangles and squares....Winter Woodland for the branch, A Child's Year for the holly and some gold pearl paint to accent the berries.
The large flower is a cut from Storybook....I added some craft stain to the edges of the papers to distress them a bit.
He, Christmas and the list were all computer generated. Dreams is the Winter Woodland font and of is from Storybook. The butterfly is a sketch I downloaded and then chalked and stickled...wish you could see all the sparkle!
The snowflakes are also from Winter Woodland....I am really pleased with the way this turned out and will do something similar for all of my boyssss...thanx for stopping by....I so appreciate you!

The Cat's Meow

I pray for all my boyssss daily but for some reason my heart has been on Matthew lately...I scrap when I worry and so a pic of him at 4 months....such a cutie if I do say so myself. The papers are a combo of card stock, provo craft and memory makers. I decided I did not like the plain brown mat so I added some stamping in off white.
The tree is Stretch Your Imagination, bats, moon and stars Paper Doll Dress Up, wooden sign Pooh Font, Font, mat and leaves all from A Child's Year. I added some mini brads to the sign and pearl paint to the mat....and lots of stickles everywhere. I cuttlebugged the fence and tree with the distress foloder and moon and stars with swiss dots.
The circles were both cut from Plantin
Fence, pumpkins and cats are all from Paper Doll Dress Up.
I cut the corn stalks from Paper Doll Dress Up...stretched them in ds and cut in 2 sizes...added some metallic accents to the kitty cats so their features would be seen...and a bit of paper tearing with some leaves and bats peeking out....thanx for stopping by...let me know what you think!
