You Have Only Begun To Shine

Good evening....This is a layout of my four boyssss. I used several carts for this one. Storybook for the hinges and the background scallop square. Indie Art for the butterfly. The greenery and the caterpillar are both cuts from Stretch Your Imagination. The sun is from Graphically Speaking. Both the scallops are from Plantin with some tweaking in DS. I added some bling to the leaves and the butterfly. Placed some square charms on the hinges and did some lacing with ribbon in the scallop. The flowers are prima which are currently on sale at Your Memories Here.... now is a great time to check out all Kristina's awesome products. I layered two flowers and added a button and then sewed them together with some bright green thread. The picture flower was made by wrapping my text in photo impact and then cutting two pics using the center point button on my cricut in two different sizes....the beautiful glitter font is part of the blog candy Brenda B sent me.....thanx for stopping by....I so appreciate your support!

U R Unique

This is my first project as a Creative Twist DT member...It was lots of fun to create. The picture is of some co workers on Dr. Seuss's bday. I love the quote...it is so true. The challenge was to create something that was inspired by a book...so I chose The Cat In The Hat by Dr. Seuss. I used lots of cricut cuts, some buttons, twine, ribbon, pearl paint, a little bling and stickles. The quote is computer generated. The actual book images and the faces for Thing 1 and Thing 2 were downloaded and printed on card stock and then cut out. I used my center cut button on my cricut to cut the scallop circle around the pic and then cut additional circles in 1/4 inch increments for the mat. Lots of pop dots to add some dimension. Click HERE to see what the other DT members came up with~
cricut cartridges:
TINK: Unique
Pooh Font: U and R
Graphically Speaking: Book...cut both in black and white, gloved hand
Paper Doll Dress Up: Thing 1 and 2, hat which was stretched in DS and cut in white and red then cut apart and pieced
Plantin: grass, leaves, kite, diamond shape cut in red and white, cut apart and pieced
Storybook: scallop circles
Zoobaloo: goldfish and bowl

Classroom Decor

For those of you who don't know I am an ESOL para at an elementary school working with children K-5.....I work with an amazing teacher....her name is Melinda and she has fabulous ideas and a heart of gold....she and I truly love our students....Hope you enjoy the slide show of our classroom...Melinda and I have had so much fun creating all the wonderful things to make a space students can grow and learn in.
The I am over the door is vinyl, the marker font from pooh font. It has lot of words from various carts surrounding it....the idea is to have the students say I am.....and fill in the blank with a word that creates a since of worth and encourages self esteem....Melinda intends to have them do this each time they leave our classroom....The mirror was created my Melinda and her daughter using vinyl and the Storybook cart....The tree is a replica of a poster by an artist that she admires...Gustav Klimt....she created the trunk freehand with lots of papers from DCWV Once Upon A Time stack to give the mosaic feel....then we cut the branches from Stretch Your imagination....It makes an awesome entrance to our classroom...ESOL on the door is again vinyl in the marker font. The quote.....When words are both true and kind, they can change the world! is cut from Plantin...
Okay my fav....the focal board in the classroom....you see it the second you walk in the room. We saw a post on the cricut MB with the DIVERSITY display and put our twist on it....lots of carts and fun fun papers make it pop. Fonts are from OA, ACY, Plantin, Stone Script, Zoobaloo, SB, Pooh Font....it was so much fun to design and looks fab next to the birthday balloons from ACY...the tags from plantin have the students name and bday surrounding a cupcake with their bday month on it....the metallic hollographic papers make it pop~thanx for stopping by.....

Scrapsketch # 137

Please scroll down for additonal pix and details!

It's Autumn Baby

Okay...this is the last of my sketches for the scrapsketch blog hop. Jackie had the option to use her choice or 'any other skrapsketch sketch'....so I chose sketch # 137...These are pics of my sweetie again....last fall. I love the pic of her little red toes...added the "sweet feet" with photo impact. I found some great fall leaves at my local all for a dollar store....they make great mats for this layout. Storybook for the marquee, Stretch Your Imagination for the flower and Autumn, and A Childs Year for it's and baby. Again a mix of papers...some stickles...button...floss...flowers and ribbon.....thanx for stopping by....I sure enjoyed working with these sketches...I have never been a sketch person and it was much more fun than I realized it would be....I will definitely be paying these ladies a visit again....hope you do too....click HERE to visit their site.

Brenda's Sketch for the Blog Hop

Please scroll down for additional pix and details!

Ray Of Sunshine

Okay next scrapsketch blog hop sketch....this is Brenda's sketch choice, #15....and my take on the sketch. I used a mishmash of papers for this layout. The pix were enhanced in photo impact to give them the sepia tone. These are pix of my youngest DS....love him so. The title is from Tink with a few stickles added to the sun. Plantin was used to cut a double circle for the sun enhancement...again some stickles. Stretch Your Imagination was used for the sunflower and the tree. Storybook...birds, leaf, and marquee for journaling. Ocean of Words for the sunshine and the cloud (used as the 'bush' part of the tree). I added some buttons and ribbon. Again used my center point button to cut the marquee after the journaling was computer generated. I'm having so much fun with the hop....thanx for looking

Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Scrapsketch is having a blog hop this weekend...along the way I found Laura and she has a great RAK for those interested in trying a layout with scrapsketch #2. This is my take on that sketch...
This is a pic of my DGN last Halloween...as you can see both her grandpa and great gramma are KU fans...."rock chalk jayhawk" is part of the traditional chant at the KU games...doesn't she make the cutest little rah rah girl! I used plain card stock and a bit of polka dot paper I had in my stash. I applied some stamping to the white card stock and added some ribbon and buttons and for the first time ever I did some stitching on a layout...so much fun. The journaling is computer generated and then cut with a Storybook scallop circle @ 2 inches using the center point button. The font is also Storybook and all the shapes are from Plantin Schoolbook. Be sure and check out the blog hop....lots of talent!

A Mother's Love

I have been thinking about this layout all day and decided to come home add a few more flowers buttons, sickles and take a daytime pic....I feel so much better now....LOL!

Good Thursday evening everyone...Hope you are all well and as excited about tomorrow being Friday as I am...LOL! This is a layout of my mom with the four of us...I am the silly little blond in the red nighty on the right. I used lots of carts on this one and a couple of new ideas. The butterflies and pink roses are stickers that I applied to card stock and then cut out and pop dotted....I also added some green stickles to the butterflies. The pink flower on the left is from Stretch Your Imagination as are the green swirls under the other flowers...some embossing on the stem and pearl paint on the flower. A Childs Year was used for the wagon, tricycle, leaves (also added green stickles), bear, and bunnies. The fence is from My Community. Plantin was used for the mat, Zoobaloo for the grass. Storybook for the scallop circles and flower layered over them. I added some pearl paint to these flowers as well as making my own trail for the butterfly. Opposites Attract for the title. The small K & Co frame holds a quote my mom had on her wall...A mother is the only one who can give all of her love to just one child, yet love all of her children equally. The papers are a combo of DCWV Be Mine stack and misc card stock. Thanx for stopping by....I so appreciate your support and comments.
