Hello Friends

I am taking some much needed time out from scrapping. Life just does not seem to allow for the luxury of scrapping and posting right now. I really appreciate all of you so much, the comments and friendships that I have made through this passion are countless and priceless.

I hope to get back to crafting and posting when the time is right. In the mean time hugs and prayers to all of you.

Much Love,
Sandy

Photo Opportunity

Wowzers....another Friday....how time flies when you're having fun!!!! Why do the summer days go by so much more quickly than the others.....truly fleeting!!!
This week @ SOUS we have a fabulous 2 page sketch....lots of fun for lots of pix! I took advantage of the layout to use the recent pix from a photo shoot I had with Mcauley at the local university lake. Lots of old papers here....DCWV Once Upon A Time stack, some sheet music and some book pages.
The clock is welded onto a lamp post in DS...both from Graphically Speaking, fence and marquee from Heritage, leaves are Paper Doll Dress Up and the flourish from Storybook.

Heritage is once again the cartridge used to cut this fun camera which fit perfectly with my layout title.

Aren't these gorgeous roses just to die for? A gift from Floren @ Generations Crafting...you gotta check her out girls...the best deals ever....click on her icon on my sidebar and give her a little visit. The clock is set @ 6:11,the date the photos were taken.
somemore beautimus flowers!
Mcauley is standing by a lamp post in the photo...so I thought why not continue the theme onto the page....I topped my lamp off with a cut from Heritage.....I folded it to give it a dimensional look and then added vellum to look like 'glass'...pop dotted to give the 3D feel. More Paper Doll Dress Up vines.
You can see that I used a mask on the corner of the paper....it is a clock and I sprayed it with some Tim Holtz ink watered down in a spray mister. The charm attached to the fiber says 'reach for the moon'.
My dragonflies are cut from Lyrical Letters...I added some vellum wings which are coated with stickles.....various adhesive gems are added for body and eyes!
Hope you enjoyed the layout...thanx for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend!

The Graduate

Happy Friday everyone! This wseek we have a really fantastic sketch @ SOUS...so much fun to put this layout together and an oppotunity to use lots of pix. I chose to make all my photos b/w and keep the same theme in the papers for the layout. This is a stack I've had forever from Me & My Big Ideas. Lots of distressing and inking on the papers.
As part of an English assignment the students had to write a speech about middle school. This is a copy of Mcauley's. I used Blackletter for my font on this layout and welded the main title in DS.

PCMS....the middle school my son attended. The graduatation cap is from A Child's Year and I've highligted a bit with some starlight stickles.
The diploma cut is also from ACY....I've placed adhesive bling in various shapes, sizes and colors to accent some of the pics
I jus adore the photo of Mcauley in the Fadora and of course my DGN, Donny, had to try it out....toooooo funny.
I really like this sketch, may have to use it again.....so versitile and fun....so now go check out the rest of the DT and the wonderful submission by the talented
Barb (aka crafygirl)! We are so pleased to have Barb join us this week as a special guest designer!
That's it for now......thanx for stopping by!!

Momma's Boy

It's Friday again...wooowhooo! I must start this post with yet another apology. I was so excited last week to start visiting all my bloggy buds and had a great start...then I started feeling ill and ended up in bed with what I thought was a stomach bug....but after several days of getting worse I finally went to the ER to learn that I had appendicitis....so I am now recovering and still lagging behind with all the fun in blog land.....I must ask again for forgiveness and send out huge hugs to all of you who have been such great sources of encouragement. I really do like my life to be ho-hum....and hope to get back to that soon. It just seems to have been one thing after another lately. So as I recover I promise to get out there and pay you some much overdue visits!!

This week I am combining the SOUS challenge with a DT submission for Generations Crafting. We had no sketch this week @ SOUS....but a fun embossing challenge. These wonderful Lullaby LaneWebsters Pages just require so little work...they are so beautiful all alone, so there really isn't a whole lot to this page.
The photo is of my precious son with the lovely bouquet of roses he gave me for Mother's Day this year. The title font is from Lyrical Letters. One of the embossed embellishments on my layout is this hinge I made in DS with the hinge from Storybook with the Fleur De Lis from Home Decor. I embossed with my cuttlebug and then added some Perfect Pearls by Ranger to enhance. I also used my crop a dile to add the grommets.

I've added 3 of the way fun to make Tim Holtz roses that are so ever popular right now. I love to add some xtra petals and have a tutorial coming up showing this technique. I have added a couple of Say It With Crystals Prima Bling to each side of my flowers.

I've used my A Child's Year cart to make the leaves to accent my roses. The buckle was a mark down find @ M's in the sewing section. I have cut 1/2 inch strips of card stock to resemble a belt and embossed with a border folder from cuttlebug. I used my black pen to add some 'stitching' and once again some of the perfect pearls in silver. Behind the photo I've also added two distressed pieces of card stock embossed with the handwriting folder and then accented with the green patina for Perfect Pearls.

Hope you enjoyed my take on the embossing challenge.....Please check out the other projects from the DT @ SOUS.

Please remember to check out Generations Crafting for all of your scrappy needs....you will find these wonderful Websters Pages and the beautiful Prima Bling along with so many other products available at wonderfully competitive prices!

Thanx for stopping by today!

Pecking Order

Hi everyone, I'm back!!!! I was whisked away for a little birthday trip last week and have missed being involved in the SOUS reveals for the past 2 weeks! It was wonderful to get back to scrapping and set aside all the other stuff life brings my way!
This week we have a wonderful sketch from pagemaps and I used the double photo design to scrap some pix of myself and my siblings from my birthday last year. My family does not love to have pix taken but I will keep taking them and scrapping them even against their will....LOL! We seldom have an opportunity to get everyone in a photo so I am happy to have these. I used K&Co papers and my new Songbird cartridge for this page.
All of the birds and birdcages along with the title are all from the circut cart Songbird.
I distressed my papers and inked the edges, a bit of lace between the pix and lots of adhesive pearl accents.
Together is cut from Graphically Speaking.....The numbers that show our sibling 'pecking order' are from a clock making kit. I used the clock mechanism for another project and had thrown the adhesive numbers into my scrap supplies...finally found a great use for them!
The birdcages on the Songbird cart were the whole motivation for adding it to my collection, I just love them!
Being the frugal scrapper that I am I knew I could create the tickets that are so popular on layouts....so I did just that~ I purchased a roll of plain white tickets @ Constructive Play Things for a song. I distressed them with some ink and added the words using the font from Storybook. I also used my Crop A Dile Big Bite to add the grommets to the flowers made with the cornflower punch from MS. The blue flowers have several layers of the same flower bound together.
My birds are cut with the Songbird cart and I added wings from Indie Art. The greenery is from Stretch Your Imagination.
I have missed all of you so much and cannot wait to pay you all a bloggy visit to see what you've been up to!!!!
So now hop on over to SOUS and check out the teams designs...they are all awesome....and we have a winner to the blog candy give away as well.....congrats Lisa.....hope you enjoy the goodies!!!!

Kansas Son Flowers Bloom In Heaven

HI!!! Hope you are all well! This weeks challenge at SOUS is to use buttons...so buttons I used!
For this layout I chose a picture of my dad and uncle as wee lads....1932...wow~My dad is the wee one on the right....just a boy of 2yrs. I chose the title to represent these boys as sons of my dear grandmother...of course all of them are blooming in heaven now.
I used K&Co Tim Coffey stack. The marquee is from Sentimentals and is double layered with a solid card stock. The 'button holes' were created with markers and then I added the buttons that are stitched with embroidery floss. I laced the ribbon around the buttons to 'attach' the marquee that I cut apart.

Kansas is cut from 50 States, Son Flowers is from Lyrical Letters, welded in DS. The tractor and windmill are both from Heritage.
I created the sunflowers by layering 3 of the flower cuts from Graphically speaking @ 1/2 inch increments. I used the sun cut from the same cart cut at 1 inch and 3/4 of an inch and then added buttons to the centers. I used my fingers to curl the petals a bit. The leaves are from Heritage and the wheat stalks from My World. The fence is cut from Paper Doll Dress Up.
1932 is cut from Pooh Font, I love love love the 'wood' look. In the center of these flowers I added some beads held in place with paper glaze.
Hop on over and check out the DT creations.....you will enjoy what you see!
Thanx for stopping by today!!!!!

You're Going Places Baby....what a fab award!!!

Well what can I say....except thanx Barb.....I have received so many lovely awards and must apologize to the sweet blogger buddies who have passed awards that I have not had time to share....hope I can make amends when school is out on the 21st.....yay!!!!
I swore I would not allow that to happen again so here is a wonderful award passed to me by our sweet craftygirly.....hope you will pay her a visit...she is so very talented and just the bestest bloggy bud!!!

For this award I must talk about where I see myself 10 years from now and pass along to 10 other bloggers....so here goes....a little quote I like....I know it's a bit ironic for a scrappy little me...but I love the truth of it....so while I scrap my memories I try not to get bogged down in the past and focus on the future...so this is a wonderful award....
"I know why God put our faces on the front and not the back....because he wants us to look where we are going and not focus on where we have been."....touched by an angel....
Ten years from now.....I would love to have all unresolved issues with my son's in the past....I see myself being a fantastic gramma....very possible as my oldest son is 20 and youngest 14.....spending time with all of them and building more wonderful memories.....I hope to find myself settled.... emotionally, spiritually, financially and physically. I would love to be remarried to a true soul mate looking forward to many new and fun experiences together. I love to travel and hope to be able to do even more....I am sure I will still be a scrappy little blogger binding the friendships I have now and creating new ones.....
with that said I am passing this to SOUS....I love my sistas I'm not counting them in my 10....love to make up my own rules....LOL
I am passing to some faithful followers and some new followers....I want to pass it to all of you...but the fun thing is...we are such a small blogging world....I know you will all get it in time....as far as I'm concerned...we are all going places baby~~
