All American Boy

This is my DS last July, decided I would do something patriotic for the 4th. For this layout I layered the blue paper over the red. I placed the pic on the red paper and tore around it to expose the picture...added a couple of eyelets to the torn areas and safety pins on the corners. I added the patterened paper on the upper right and lower left, layering and distressing. I used the negative from my star cut to ink some stars around the page....inked some on the torn edges as well...I used gold ribbon and crinkled it up so the gold would flake off and placed buttons on top and then added some stickles. Thanx for looking.

Side by Side

I was struggling with the second page to this lo so decided to add some purple flowers and post them side by side to see if I would be happier with the end result. I guess I am just always going to be a work in progress!

Pray Without Ceasing

This is the second part to my Angels Among Us lo, again with my DGN. The page elements are the same except on this page these items were added: Sun from An Ocean of words, embossed with Cuttlebug, circle fowers from Plantin Schoolbook. also embossed, wings from Tinkerbell and Friends, I added some eyelets and ribbon, "Faith" and the flower stems are both from Home Accents. Thanx for looking.

Angels Among Us

This is a layout of my DGN. I enhanced the photo to b/w and then colorized the skirt and bow. I cut the two smaller pics from wallet size shots. This was my first attempt to do a distressed look on a page....I just kinda did my own thing....I think I like it. Painted the yellow paper edges with a white wash with a bit of dark stain added then crumpled and let it kinda tear where it wanted to. I placed green polka dot paper behind it. Glued the worded paper to the pink and then cut the background. Glued the pic to a piece of cardstock and did some tearing around it. Added some matallic gold to edges of clouds and wings. I used a Fskars embossing punch on the green paper to add the decorative edge, ran some fiber through the white ribbon added some wire, bling and stickles. The title is computer generated. Thanx so much for looking!

Blog Awards!

Thank you again, Nanne and Brenda, for the Lemonade and Honest Scrap Awards. I appreciate your encouragement and support. Nanne had so much faith in me to start my blog, she actually gave me these awards before it even began. I would have never done this if it had not been for the two of you. Thank you as well, Nanne, for passing the Your Blog Makes Us Smile Award along to me...you both make me smile~

The Lemonade Award

Desined for bloggers who show great attitude and gratitude.

The Honest Scrap Award
Post the name and blog link to the person who granted you the award.
List 10 honest things about yourself.

1. I love the Lord with all my heart. He helps me get through it all...my favorite bible verse..."This too shall pass."
2. I love my children completely...nothing will ever change that.
3. I am looking for my soul mate....I may have already met him...I may still be on the path to meet him...God will let me know.
4. I still believe in "happily every after"... I just think you have to work hard to get there. I have not found my way completely but I am headed that direction. I also believe you need to create your "story" along the way, don't let it create you.
5. I am totally addicted to my family, photography, my cricut and coffee.
6. I cry very easily..."wear my heart on my sleeve", as my mom would say.
7. I am a loyal and committed friend, I will be there through sun and rain if you will let me. I also think every true friend should believe in the 24/7 rule....we are all given the same amount of hours in a day....we simply choose how to spend them...if you are resenting how you are spending them that is your choice. So cherish every moment and respect each others.
8. I spend too much money on scrapbooking supplies.
9. I want to live by the ocean, I am a summer time kinda girl.
10. I miss my mom everyday, and I thank God everyday I had the kind of mom I could miss so much.
I would like to share these award with....

I Did It!

I finally started my blog...bear with me...this is a work in progress but I knew if I did not "just do it" I never would.

My first post is the layout I created for the challenge on the cricut MB. Thanx Karel for the inspiration and encouragement. I used Lyrical Letters for most of this layout. The word gift is Opposites Attract and the word past is from Graphically Speaking. The paper is the La Creme Stack from DCWV. I added paper foil to the back of the ornaments for some added shine. The black paper is a a glitter stack from Best Occasions. Thanx to all of you for your encouragement with this blog...now I will be asking you for lots of help as I work my way through it!
