Life's Autumn Harvest

Happy Monday everyone....hope you all had a fabulous weekend. This layout is a tribute to my mom. She was taken from us in the Autumn of her life....thus the title...Life's Autumn Harvest. I miss her dearly...especially as we move into fall...she and I always made Thanksgiving dinner together for the family. No matter where I lived I always came home to spend that time with her. She was dxd with cancer Thanksgiving weekend of 2000 and passed shortly after on December 17th, my son's 8th birthday. Tho I know she is in a better place I am a selfish girl and wish she were still here.
These papers are on sale at Michael's...it is their Memory Makers brand...the Autumn stack... I used Opposites Attract to cut the title and Mickey and Friends for the acorns...I'm sure you all recognize the Indie Art butterfly...I seem to have them on almost every layout.

Of course what's a layout without a fence...LOL...My Community and cuttlebugged...the pumpkin and vine are from Happily Ever After, tree Stretch Your Imagination and leaves A Child's Year. Flourishes are all Home Accents.
My little girl is from A Child's Year and I filled her up with some more ACY leaves...
These flowers are wonderfully easy to make...I used a Home Accents snowflake base cut...the sixth image from the left on the top row...I cut 2x each 3, 2/1 and 2 inches and staggered and layered...added some chalk and distress stickles and brads for the centers....the small flower is just four layers of 1 1/2 and 1 inch. The quote is on a tag cut from Plantin and reads...Autumn, the years last, loveliest smile.
thanx so much for stopping...hope you leave a comment...I love to read them!

  2. Oh my, such an emotional response from me. I know I just beagan to follow your blog yesterday, but this has stirred quite the reaction. My Granny is 83 and I suppose this made me think about losing her. This is a very elegant page in your beautiful mohter's memory. I especially love the effect on your photo of her. Your journaling is beautiful as well. I'll hold you in my prayers as this time approaches.

I was aware you'd lost your mom but wow, the cream background with the autumn colors just really stirs up the emotions and gets you thinking! I hope doing it brought you some comfort and will help prepare you for yet another Thanksgiving holiday. She was lucky to have a daughter such as you who will do the scrapbook and keep her memory alive! BTW .. You can come cook with me if you want Heehee!
