I decided to frame this layout....I found these fab frames on sale for $4.00 and they are 12x12....a wonderful find. The beautiful hydrangea branch and the bright pink prima were both part of the kit supplied by Kristina at Your Memories Here...hope you'll pop over and check out her sale too....the coupon code is turkey so please pop over and see what fab finds she has to make your projects spectacular.
This close up of the hydrangea branch does not do it justice....it is just stunning....it worked perfectly for my gramma who loved flowers. The butterflies are from Indie Art, accented with pearl paint and stickles. The branches are from Storybook and the background accent cut is from Home Decor.
The primas are so pretty and I love how I was able to use the beautiful minis along with the larger prima....the center is accented with a button. I added some pearl paint to the branches just for fun.
I used a Fiskars border punch to punch up the edges of the photo with some hot pink paper...the flourish is Home Decor and the lace was made with a border from Storybook. I found the little metal catch at the hardware store and knew it would work so well on a layout. I burned the edges of the background paper and added some pages from an old book behind it as well as behind the photo.
I added a little fence from Paperdoll Dress Up and some lace and ribbon along the bottom of the picture. Gramma is cut from Storybook...the rest of the title is computer generated and printed on vellum....I cropped my gramma from the pic and placed her in a K&Co mini frame....I love these little frames. Thanx so much for stopping by....I so appreciate you all!

Sandy, what a sweet layout of your grandmother. I love your quote about antique little girls. (that is so cute).
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you were able to put your signature fence in your layout (beatifully, I should add.)
Hope things are going well for you. Again, thank you for sharing your amazing talents.

ReplyDeleteOh, Sandy, what a sweet, sweet layout this is! So happy for you that you found that box of photos. A real treasure to my way of thinking. I love how you always stay so true to the sketch but yet it's always done in such an interesting way that it seems original. Great punchwork and awesome layering. Love that hot, hot pink .. wow! I need to go prowl for those frames! Great work!
ReplyDeleteGosh this is so awesome..all the little treasures you've added in. all the little desgins..the use of the storybook cart and the flowers and the border punch and the flower centers..gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I love everything about it, and that saying is so sweet:)
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible beautiful lay out Sandy. You're right, it is a treasure and your design is just awesome. The hydrangeas are lovely! The butterfly fits perfectly. When I was a kid, my mom did a framing and burned the edges of the paper and I remember what a nostalgic effect it was then. I'm glad you did that - I'll have to do that when I put my scrap layouts together for my Grandma. Great framed project!
ReplyDeleteAnother award winning page! This is lovely. That hinge and how you used it to pull down that corner is just a detail that only you would have thought of. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another stunning page. I agree, that frame is fabulous and a perfect find for this vingate homage to your gramms. I am so loving all the vintage details in your layout. That hydrangea is incredible! It is just stunning! I have left another award for you on my blog! Hugs...
