Serenity

Happy Friday! What a great day...not only is it reveal day at SOUS but here in SE KS we have a snow day! One of the many rewards of working in the field of education....LOL!
This wonderful sketch is by Aymee Gandy. When I saw the layout of the pics I knew I wanted to do something unique with it. This is a pic of my son sitting in a Japanese garden. I printed it @ 8x10 and then cut the photo apart cutting the sizes appropriately, matted each of them, added foam tape doubling the thickness on the largest photo. I love the finished effect of the photo! These are once again beautiful papers by K&Co from the Que Sere Sere stack.
The tree is from Happily Ever After. I added some white pearl paint to the center of each flower. I love using different textures in my projects and adore the look of fiber so I have wrapped some around the bottom of the page.

The flower is once again Happily Ever After, bamboo and leaves are from Life's A Beach. The leaves are cut in two sizes and the layer is set a bit off, I liked that look. I cut the circle from Plantin in two sizes...one in brown one in the patterned paper...distressed the edges a bit with an emery board as well.

The title is from Life's A Beach...I cut some xtra bamboo leaves and added those to the title cut. My dragonflies are from Stamping and are cut in both brown and patterned papers with pearl paint added to the body.

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog and will stop back by soon...I love all the wonderful comments you leave...they truly brighten my day...thanx for that!

Click HERE to check out the sketch and the creations of the other talented ladies, and if you have time...we'd love to have you join in on the fun!

  1. Wow, what a beautiful LO. Look how serene, and the beauty just surrounds him. Love the dragon flies and the pear paint on them. I just love this layout.

I saw the sketch and all I could think of is what can I use that has four photos? If you don't mind I would like to scraplift the 8 1/2x11 and utilize it like you? The next page in my book, again is at the BD party, but it's the younger one climbing on the table and getting into the cake... If thats ok? Then all I need to do is look at this work of art you created, designed on Amy's clean sketch and put a new twist to it! I will say I am tired of party hats!

    Have a great day.

  11. Sandy... you never cease to amaze! Cutting up a larger print is absolutely brilliant! It gave it such a cool effect.. and I, like everyone else who has commented you (and those that haven't), will be taking this idea and using it myself! The papers you used on this LO are so perfect... and I love, love the fibers! And you are one of the only people I know who can take dragonflies and flowers and not make it too girly for a boy! Way to go!! Thanks for sharing another great inspirational LO this week!

  12. Yesm as stampmom9 noted above, the snow is headed towards us in North Carolina. Being from Pa originally, I am in NC to get away from the snow! LOL!! This page is spectacular. I love the effect of the photo and I would never have thought to double up on the foam under the largest picture. Pure genius!

  17. Hi Sandy,

Another beautiful layout. Your albums are truly works of art, girlfriend - people would never be able to put them down with all the craftiness going on there. I love the details you add to each page and using so many fabulous techniques! You've taken scrapping certainly to a higher level. No longer will we be content to look at plain pages with stickers slapped on to bring out the story. I love that you share this with us. I hope you have a super fine weekend girlfriend! ;~)
